Kick off the Iron Dog two days ahead of the Pro Class at Big Lake. Watch as these two distinct classes embark on epic Alaskan journeys.
The Expedition Class offers adventure seekers a non-competitive trail ride through some of Alaska's most challenging terrain. Teams of 2 to 4 riders tackle the same rugged conditions as the pros, without the race clock.
The Ambassador Class travels the same trail promoting snowmachine safety, engaging with communities, and showcasing what prepared, purposeful riding looks like.
Come early to meet the riders, snap photos, and experience the camaraderie that defines Iron Dog. Starting at Susitna Brewing Company in Big Lake.

Detailed schedule of events
- 9:00 AMExpedition Class and Ambassador Team start arriving at Big Lake. Identify yourself with volunteers (by Team #). Park and unload snowmachine.
- 10:00 AMAmbassador Team must be lined up, in designated paddock spot with GPS units mounted ready to go.
- 10:30 AMExpedition Class snowmachines must be lined up, in designated paddock spot with GPS units mounted ready to go.
- 11:00 AMFirst Expedition team departs Big Lake. Teams released in two-minute intervals.
