The first step to participating in the 2027 Iron Dog Race is to complete your online racer registration.

Deadlines
Meet the deadlines
Two dates. One closes your entry, one closes the details that go in the Iron Dog Guide and the tracking app.
- Registration edits close
- Sep 30, 2026You are allowed to create and edit one registration. Update your registration until September 30, 2026.
- Racer details due
- Nov 15, 2026Your racer details can be completed before November 15, 2026. This information appears on the race tracking app and in the printed Iron Dog Guide.

Pay the entry fee
The GPS tracker deposit is refundable and the card surcharge is not. Card payments cost 3 percent more than a check.

Your GPS refund check ($250) will be mailed to you upon return of your GPS unit & mount to the Iron Dog office after the race. Participants must return GPS units & mounts by March 31, 2026 or will forfeit their $250 GPS deposit to Iron Dog Race, Inc.
How to pay
- Online
- During your racer registration you will have the option to pay online using a credit or debit card. You may only pay for one registration at a time. If you are paying for more than one registration, please contact us. A receipt will be emailed to you after payment.
- By mail
- Check payments are due within 14 days of pre-registration. Please make all checks out and mail them to the Iron Dog office.
- In person
- For in-person check or cash payments, please visit the Iron Dog Office Monday to Friday, 10am to 5:30pm.

Forms A to H
Eight requirements. Three of them are a file you print and return, two are signed digitally inside the registration form, and three are documents you already hold.
Documents are not required for Expedition Class Pre-Registration. You will be required to complete these forms before October 31, 2025.

Tech inspection, 2026

Helmets
Participants' helmets NO LONGER need to meet ISR specifications and be a minimum of 75% blaze orange.
Iron Dog Race strongly encourages all participants to wear helmets that display High Vis Colors over 75% of the surface area.
Racers can design their own helmets.
